From makeup provider to be «the» bride

Once upon a time, I was the bride! That s right , that day I sat in a chair instead of a client

Usually, I am in charge of enhancing the beauty of my clients, I am an artist that works in the weddings world. I discovered this branch of my profession when I was living in Costa Rica, the same place I met, my boyfriend, was it destiny? obviously ! 

9 years after our first kiss, the day to say I DO arrived, ufff , how stressful! during the whole time of relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend I was always saying, he is my boyfriend, on january 3rd, I signed, know he is my husband !


wow our day was incredible , we decided to get married in our home, why? simply because we wanted to share with our guests a little bit of intimacy and identity. we were round 38 people, we rented furniture, we hired a chef, barman, waiters, dj, mc, wedding coordinator, photographer, mariachis and a good friend of mine made a beautiful flower decoration.

 It was a success, the theme of our wedding was boho greenery chic. the garden of our home was the min decoration (greenery) , we rented an arch in hexagonal shape, a tablecloth and a curtain, all made in macrame (boho) 

and the Chic part, my dress and my husband’s suit,and simply because we wanted to shine! 
talking about shine and coming back to the beginning of the log, it was time for the getting ready of the bride, ME!what a surprise, my witness, that day was also my makeup artist, he proposed that the beauty session would be at his house.He prepped a beautiful scenery, with ballons that read BRIDE, a shiny curtain, a platter of hors dôeuvres, we are talking about a cheese platter ( obviously i am french), different types of bread, deli meats, strawberries, chocolate etc.. and last but certainly not least, champagne, Moet Chandon. I was speechless, everything was so beautiful! 

the stress at this point had started,  I sat in the chair, and the magic of feeling like a bride took power. My makeup artist created my look, a fresh , subtle makeup, french style, my stylist made my hair like I desired, when I looked in the mirror I felt like a queen, my feminine side was enhanced and I wanted the world to see me, look at me!

The photographer came, the level of stressed augmented, and it was the time to put the dress,

I felt butterflies in my stomach ( its hard to control that feeling) it came from nowhere, unannounced! the chauffer, a friend of mine, took me home and i could see all the set up, wooow! everything was so perfect!  everything was the way I visioned it. the ceremony, the yes I do and then we were husband and wife, I was proud!

we let our guests enjoy the cocktail, and me and my husband went to take some pictures. and then we came back to the party to celebrate with friends and family until 2am!

 The day after i was thinking about how i felt and lived this experience. honestly I understood a lot more my clients, for starters, organizing a destination  wedding is super stressful. 50% of the brides don’t come to have an inspection, they have to trust the vendors, me and my company are part of that, the moment you are getting ready you trust your face and hair to unknown people at that point,  and this reflexion takes me back to my clients that put their trust on us. thank you ! Et voila! thank you to all my family and friends, to our fans in social media, that took the time to congratulate us!

INSTAGRAM FAVORITE BRIDAL MAKEUP FOR 2018 / 2019

 

Instagram is one of our favorite and most used app to find trends

and ideas, we can easily see what are the hottest trends for everything.

I started making a research of course in bridal makeup and hair for 2018/ 2019 , and this is what I found out.

 

#1 THE NATURAL BEAUTY LOOK  

It’s all about flawless foundation achieved with a layer of airbrush and a dewy look using highlighters, for the eye shadow a matte finish with neutral warm tones and a nude lipstick with a clear gloss.

 

#2 A POP OF COLOR

Keeping the natural skin look, but adding a pop of color to the eyes, if you feel adventurous and playful. Maybe a blue, or green eyeliner in the bottom of the eyes or a bright  lipstick, like fuscia will do a perfect contrast with the beach colors.

#3 SMOKEY EYES

We know this look  never gets old, andi f you are the kind of girl that likes the glamourous look, then this look is for you. Let your eyes be the center of attention by giving them  a smokey eye in gray matte tones and keep your skin very glowy and match with a mauve lipstick.

KARLA OUR BOHO CHIC BRIDE Hacienda Tres Rios RIVIERA MAYA

Here comes the bride…
Karla, our bride of the week is wearing a look that needs to be shared, because we are sure it is going to inspire a lot of romantic brides.
Karla recently got married in the paradisiac beaches of Riviera Maya, she got married with an Irish man and they both decided to do a destination wedding. What a better way to get married and also have a vacation right?
Karla’s makeup and hair choices are what we think perfect for a beach wedding. She chose elegance and glamour but also boho and fresh, so we created a special look that would meet the best of both worlds.
Our makeup artist was Fabiola who did an excellent job, we name this makeup Elegant Glam, with soft warm browns and champagne sparkles on the eyes, and the rest of the makeup very soft and classy. Everything blended to perfection.
Karla wanted for her hair an up do, but with movement, So Natacha did an up do with some pieces of hair falling to frame the face and the rest was up with texture to create movement. This kind of hairstyle is perfect for a beach wedding because it looks beachy but well structured and you don’t have to worry that your hair will fall or it will be all on your face.

BRIDAL HAIR MAKEUP HYATT ZIVA PUERTO VALLARTA

Hello everyone, today we will be revealing how we achieved this beautiful bridal look.
Our model today is Kim, one of our brides who got married this past August in Puerto Vallarta.
As you can see, Kim is looking natural, glowy and her eyes are outstanding!
Let’s start with her skin, the artist prepped her skin with this miracle primer called lait-creme concentre by embryolysse.
This hidrates and primes at the same time, and this product is one of he best kept secrets of a lot of celebritie’s makeup artists.
An eye contour was also applied to reduce wrinkles and the appearance of tired eyes.
After her skin was perfectly prepared, the artist used different colors of concealer by kryolan  to correct and add luminosity.
Once skin is color corrected then a soft layer of airbrush is applied to make sure the skin tone looks even and peachy like. Not to mention that airbrush make up is long lasting and waterproof, this guarantees that it will stay flawless all day.
For her eye makeup the artist used the Jeffry stat palette “Androgyny” using a sparkling bright tone on the inside of the crease to brighten and open up the eye and a matte darker brown on the outside to create depth.
A black gel liner was used to define her beautiful blue eyes and make them pop!
A pech and pink combination or blushes were applied to soften the eye makeup and  to finish the look a nude pink lipstick was applied onto the lips.
A few splashes of setting spray and Kim was ready!
While the makeup artist was working with Kim, our hairstylist was preparing her hair, Kim chose some gorgeous defined curls that she then decorated with a beautiful crown made of fresh with flowers and some greenery.
To achieve this defined curls, the stylist used a hair protector to prevent damage of the heat caused by the tools, oasis + a powder to add volume to the hair, wax to hide baby hairs and a lot of spray to make them stay.
Now with hair and makeup completed Kim was finally ready to be a bride and walk the aisle.

GET YOUR HAIR & MAKEUP INSPIRATION READY FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

Get your hair and makeup inspiration ready

When organizing your wedding, we now that Pinterest is a helpful tool, but sometimes there are ton of ideas that make it a little overwhelming when it comes to choosing.

But doing this will help you a lot to bring down the ideas you have and it will also help you to communicate with the makeup artist and hair stylist that will be with you on your wedding day.

This will be easier to achieve the look of your dreams.

Based on our experience with many brides we came up with  some tips to help you create a Pinterest board for your hair and makeup:

1.- Choose the style of your look ( boho, glam, classic, etc..) Try going according your dress style and wedding deco.

2.- Choose hairstyles that are close to your hair style ( short, long, curly, straight)

3.- Choose makeup that goes with your face structure ( eye shape, lips, etc.) It is better to have realistic pictures that you know will look similar on you.

4.- Try to stick with a few pictures of each hair and makeup so you can really be sure of what you want. Maybe 3 or 4 pictures. This way the makeup artist and hairstylist can create a personalized style mixing some of the different styles you have chosen.

FLAWLESS HAIR AND MAKEUP FOR MARISOL’S WEDDING AT THE HACIENDA 3 RIOS

Marisol recently got married at the hacienda 3 Rios hotel, located in Playa del Carmen.
Marisol chose team Vo Evolution, to be her glad squad.
For her look she went for a very glamorous, gold sparkles and a Smokey eye, of course latinas  know how to rock a dazzling look like this!
Our makeup artist was Fabiola, who created this look balancing the Smokey eyes with a subtle blush and lip tone, she did this in order to make the whole look, look bridal.
For Marisol’s hair, an elegant updo was created by the artist Natacha, who also designed the perfect hairdo, to go with the makeup and dress.
Natacha used one of her favorite tools, the “beach waver”, who allows her to do beautiful curls within minutes.
The final look:  A glamorous, and sophisticated bride.
We love to see our brides looking and feeling beautiful, that’s what keeps us motivated.

We love hindu weddings!

When it comes to hindu weddings we know there is a lot going on behind the organization, there is a lot to think about, every detail counts!

They are vibrant, colorful and full of joy!

As artist we love hindu weddings because we play with colorful palettes, and we work a lot in detail, which is one of our strengths. We get creative and have fun. For us,each makeup and hair is a piece of art.

We were recently part of a hindu wedding

At Barceló where we got to beautify our lovely bride, Vruta.

Vruta chose a classic and glamorous gold and red tones for her makeup look.

Do you want to know how we accomplished this beautiful bridal look?

On her Skin we applied

Makeup forever face & body foundation to achieve a smooth and natural finish, her cheeks were colored with a peach tone to add warmth into her skin using

Peaches blush by Mac cosmetics, to define the bone structure,we added a little contour with Cocoa palette contour by too faced and to add luminosity we applied High light by wet & wild onto the high point of her face. All of the above very well blended to get a natural and soft finish in her skin.

For the bride’s eyes,( here is our favorite part) we did Smokey eyes with gold and warm browns and terracota, we used the fiery palette called Heat by Urban decay. We defined her eyes with a very graphic liner using Tattoo liner by Kay von D, for extra volume and to finish the look, we used a set of full lashes by house of lashes.

Her lips were matte red using a liquid lipstick by Styla , to balance the brightness of the golden eyes and make it more elegant.

We officially have a crush on this look!

BEST BRIDAL PARTY GETTING READY by VO evolution

How to have the best Getting Ready Bridal party!

If you are the king of Bride that loves getting ready with the girls and get the party started with mimosas, this is a blog you MUST read! I have been part of many bridal parties so I have my own list of the dos and don’ts for a bridal party to go easy and smooth and to enjoy that moment; here is a list of Do’s

  1. – Take Time into consideration:

Time is GOLD here, since you have a certain time to be ready for pictures, or the ceremony or any other fun thing you are doing before the wedding. We suggest that the guests are ready in a room. (And with ready I mean, dry hair and washed face) So they can be on time with their beauty treatments (hair, makeup, manicure & pedicure etc..) if everyone is in the room, the beauty artist will work according to the Schedule and everyone will be ready on time.

Tip: book the photographer 1 hour before they start doing the Bridal hair and makeup so he has time to shoot the getting ready Pictures.

About the Schedule for beauty, don’t worry about it; Vo-Evolution will be in charge to give you the Schedule according to your needs.

  1. – FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Try to have a food platter of sweet and salty Hors d’ oeuvres, a mimosa bar and plenty of water, to get the party started. Remember that you girls have to eat, because alter the getting ready everything goes pretty Fast, leaving you with long hours of not eating so you need all your energy for those hours, and I am not going to lie a little booze will also calm the nerves.

  1. – MUSIC MAKES THE PEOPLE COME TOGETHER

Have a playlist for this specific happening, make a list f songs that you and your friends have memories with or are familiar to you, so you ca sing a long and remember good times, music is always a good way to set the mood!

I forgot to mention that if you have a good set of speakers you should bring them with you, some Hotels don’t provide good quality speakers and good sound is always better 😉

  1. – MAID OF HONOR

The maid of honor takes an important role here, she will be in charge to deal with things you don’t and can’t worry about that day, the main task of the maid of honor will be to solve little details, and to make sure you THE BRIDE are relaxed and enjoying every single moment. Make sure you have a special thank you gift for her; she will make your life way easier at this point. Things a maid of honor is in charge of payments, making sure everyone is on time, music, etc…

Those 4 Do’s are essential to make a great bridal party and I am sure it will set the mood for the best day of your life!

WEDDING HAIR MAKEUP RIVIERA MAYA

We are proud to present this final look of our bride Kari who recently got married at the Ocean Riviera Paradise Hotel.

Kari’s makeup  is a monochromatic look with pink tones.
the artist used pink and terracota tones to make Kari’s skin look warm and fresh. 

For her hair, the stylist used Volume elevator spray and rock on voluminizing powder for volume, then she used rollers on top.
Hair extensions were added in order to have an appearance of abundant hair.

She applied shine spray Glamourama+ photo finisher 3 by style masters to finish and set the hairstyle.

Kari’s look was soft and glamourous!
