Vanneza in the «beauty truck»

Being a bride is the best moment to feel like a princess, getting your hair and makeup done, having your bridesmaids taking care of you and wear a pretty dress and shoes. 

This is how Vanneza lived the experience of a modern princess who was staying at DREAMS TULUM

First, vanneza had her makeup and hair trial, (this is very important because you polish any details and come down with the look you want for your wedding day. So the day of your wedding there is one less thing to worry about. )

After the trial finished, and the bride was happy with her wedding look, the hair and makeup artists changed the look for her rehearsal dinner. Vanneza was wearing white dress with peach flowers, for her hair she chose  beach waves and for makeup a subtle smokey eye with brown tones, a little bit of pearl shimmer on her eyes, and peach lips to pair it perfectly with the dress. 

The wedding day came, and VO evolution Glam squad arrived to the room to get all the bridesmaids, flower girl and bride ready.  It was girls time !! With mimosas, fresh fruits, snacks, 90s music and a wedding dress hanging from the ceiling, the hotel room started looking like a bridal party.

Vanneza chose a matte smokey eyes with light pink and brown tones, ( urban decay naked ultimate basics palette) a matte nude lipstick (velvet teddy M.A.C) and bronzed cheeks with peach blush and a rose gold highlighter. (Prosecco highlighter by Becca),  her skin was color corrected and then airbrushed for a long lasting and velvet finish.  Her hair was a sided bride with a low chignon, very beauty but elegant at the same time. 

After Vanneza was ready, they all went to Sassil Kantenah, the place where the reception and ceremony was going to take place. By the time they arrived the VO beauty truck and two artists were  waiting for the bride and guests to do some touch ups before the ceremony started,  All the girls had a refreshing moment, getting touch ups to make sure they all were flawless by the time the big moment came.

We are very proud to present our new acquisition, The beauty truck by Vo- Evolution is here and ready to beautify all women that want an experience that will never be forgotten.

Let me give you just a glimpse of what the experience is about.

To begin with, the truck will pick you and your guests  at the resort, our bus is design for full comfort, it is a moving saloon with comfortable chairs, mirrors, AC, changing room and a minibar!

Picture yourself and your guests enjoying a mini road trip  to a beautiful beach club, while you pop a bottle of sparkling wine ( on the house) and listen to your favorite tunes.

When you get to the beach club, our glam squad will be ready to join the party and start doing their magic.  While some will be getting their hair and makeup services, the others can enjoy a nice time at the beach club, grab some snacks or cocktails. The fun never ends!

Once everyone is glamed up, the beauty truck will take you back to your resort.

The beauty truck not only does weddings, we also offer trash the dress sessions, where we go to different spots ( jungle, cenotes, beach),or if you are feeling playful we do private boudoir photoshoots inside the bus.

VO EVOLUTION worked outside the wedding area, because, WE CAN.

Hi everyone, today I want to share with you something outside of the wedding subject, because, we also  do more than weddings.  I want to share a story that my colleagues had to deal, when they had to think outside the box and get creative to make a client happy.

Emilia and Jenny, went to a photoshoot, not knowing what they would have to do. Our regular photoshoots are with regular makeup and hair but, the client told them she wanted to get her photos covered in glitter, and asked Emilia if she could do it, so Emilia who was the makeup artist on the task, said that they don’t usually do that but that she could, although she  didn’t have that on her makeup bag, so  she had to think fast and she went to buy some vaseline and assorted colors of glitter.  She used the vaseline to cover the whole body and then applied the glitter using blue, pink and white. She also did a pink glittery smokey eye and glossy lips to match the look.

As for her hair, the client wasn’t sure about what she wanted, and told the stylist that she normally had her hair straight, but the stylist Jenny wanted to go for something completely different and chose lots of volume on the top, to get a more editorial look. The client loved it!

It was a challenging day for our artists but they were happy to achieve something extraordinary.

INSTAGRAM FAVORITE BRIDAL MAKEUP FOR 2018 / 2019

 

Instagram is one of our favorite and most used app to find trends

and ideas, we can easily see what are the hottest trends for everything.

I started making a research of course in bridal makeup and hair for 2018/ 2019 , and this is what I found out.

 

#1 THE NATURAL BEAUTY LOOK  

It’s all about flawless foundation achieved with a layer of airbrush and a dewy look using highlighters, for the eye shadow a matte finish with neutral warm tones and a nude lipstick with a clear gloss.

 

#2 A POP OF COLOR

Keeping the natural skin look, but adding a pop of color to the eyes, if you feel adventurous and playful. Maybe a blue, or green eyeliner in the bottom of the eyes or a bright  lipstick, like fuscia will do a perfect contrast with the beach colors.

#3 SMOKEY EYES

We know this look  never gets old, andi f you are the kind of girl that likes the glamourous look, then this look is for you. Let your eyes be the center of attention by giving them  a smokey eye in gray matte tones and keep your skin very glowy and match with a mauve lipstick.

When organizing your wedding, we now that Pinterest is a helpful tool, but sometimes there are ton of ideas that make it a little overwhelming when it comes to choosing.

But doing this will help you a lot to bring down the ideas you have and it will also help you to communicate with the makeup artist and hair stylist that will be with you on your wedding day.

This will be easier to achieve the look of your dreams.

Based on our experience with many brides we came up with  some tips to help you create a Pinterest board for your hair and makeup:

1.- Choose the style of your look ( boho, glam, classic, etc..) Try going according your dress style and wedding deco.

2.- Choose hairstyles that are close to your hair style ( short, long, curly, straight)

3.- Choose makeup that goes with your face structure ( eye shape, lips, etc.) It is better to have realistic pictures that you know will look similar on you.

4.- Try to stick with a few pictures of each hair and makeup so you can really be sure of what you want. Maybe 3 or 4 pictures. This way the makeup artist and hairstylist can create a personalized style mixing some of the different styles you have chosen.

One of the biggest hair trends on the ready-to-wear runways for fall 2017 was bows. Now they are making their way up to bridal this 2018.

WEDDING HAIRSTYLE, THINGS TO CONSIDER!

We can all agree that Pinterest and Instagram have come to make our lives sooo much better. When it comes to planning a wedding they help a LOT and getting ideas is way easier with this apps!

But, as I said they are all just IDEAS, that create some expectations, especially when it comes to the final look. Today I want to talk about the hairstyle, for brides and guests.

When it comes to choosing your hairstyle for a beach wedding there are a few things to consider. Sometimes our clients come with a beautiful Picture from Pinterest and of course the model looks perfect with her flawless Beach waves, in a Photo that’s on the Beach, but that curly lasts for the photo shoot and the stylist is just behind the model fixing every detail every 5 min. we know it won’t be your case. So all I want to do is list a few things to consider when choosing your hair, so you can come with a realistic idea and you end up happy with the result

Weather.

The weather in the Riviera Maya is Humid, so your chance of Frizziness rises. Although we use humidity Proof products, a hair that is down and wavy is not going to last, your waves will eventually fall and the frizziness shows more.

Also if you are getting married in front of the beach or out doors there is going to be wind, and hair will be on your face most of the time, that is a bit annoying, trust me I’ve been there.

If you don’t like your hair all done up, try to go for a wavy up do, or choose Brands to add a boho style, play with textures in the up do, a hairdo can have so many movement, start looping for creative ideas or let the professionals give you some ideas J

Hair type:

Of course we can make a very straight hair look curly, or vice versa, but keep in mind that the more we change your hair type the less it stays, there is nothing better than working with your hair type and give form and body to it, creating a beautiful hair style using what you already have.

Hair length

Your hair length its an important thing to consider, there are some hair styles that require very long hair in order to look the way they do, voluminous and with lots of movement, consider your length when it comes to hair dos with lots of twists and Braids. We do have Tools to make your hairstyle with more volume but it depends on how much texture you want. If not, we highly recommend natural hair extensions; they are perfect and the style looks much more polished with more hair.

Runny mascara? Frizzy hair? Your eyeliner runs and you look like a raccoon?

Yes those are problems that we all deal with in summer; we know the struggle is real when it comes to staying flawless in the summer heat.

That is why our team of experts want to share their favorite products that swear by are the most efficient products for a hot, sweaty day.

*Fabiola (Makeup Artist)

My favorite product is the pore minimizer POREfessional by Benefit; it leaves velvet like texture and porcelain finish to the skin. It also helps the foundation to blend better and by having a smooth skin, the use of foundation is very little, leaving more natural finish.

*Selene (Hair Artist)

My favorite product is the OASIS+ Dust it texture because it increases the texture in hair, mostly in thin hair, and it prevents the humidity to ruin the volume, it is certainly an excellent tool.

Love a lot of products, but this one Twist, shape and texturize hair into changeable styles. Pliable fiber network provides a «web of support» for creating strong shapes that have on-going flexibility for instant replay.

My favorite product for makeup is the eye primer 24 hours by MAC cosmetics, I LOVE this product because of its high resistance to humidity, it intensifies the pigmentation of the eye shadow and it makes blending easier.

 

 *Fernanda (Hair Artist)

I do not have a favorite product per se but I do have a favorite tool; the waffle iron it is the best to create volume and it makes thin hair look thicker.

 

*Lizzette (Makeup Artist)

My favorite product for eyes is Paintpot from MAC Cosmetics. I use it as a base before applying eye shadow and not only intensifies the eye shadow color, but it makes it last all day without creasing. My favorite color is soft ochre and painterly for a neutral tone.
